About MBBA

MBBA stands for Myanmar-Britain Business Association.

The organisation exists to promote the best of both worlds and build bridges.

MBBA achieved a first in being allowed to help bring the two sides together in Myanmar in 1998.

• Myanmar is a resource-rich land with port access, including strong links to China, India and Thailand.
• Asia’s biggest exporter of natural gas.
• Investment spend expected to increase to 14.7% GDP per year between 2014-16/
• Economic growth is expected to increase to 6.5% per year between 2014-16
• UK export of goods only for the period January to April 2012 totalled £3 million.
• Burmese government have expressed a commitment to an open, market-oriented economy.
